Elephant Tree, Sierra de San Francisco

Baja California

Baja California, Mexico, has always been a Siren's call long before I starting taking pictures.  The 800-mile peninsula is surrounded by 3,000 miles of coast line.  Topography ranges from sea level to over 10,000 feet and features thirteen ecoregions spread over five major geologic provinces.  The environmental
and biological diversity is astounding.  Recently ripped loose from North America along tectonic plate edges, it is literally a world apart.  Sparsely populated, many regions still exude a sense of wilderness.  Take the road less traveled.
